Between 2008-2013 I visited Xiamen, China twice as part of a research exchange between artists in Swansea and Xiamen. It was curated by Glynn Vivian Art Gallery. As part of my work i would perform daily rituals in an old army barracks adjacent to a buddhist temple. I had become obsessed with hearing the nuns singing every day and wanted to communicate with them somehow. The video below is documentation of the kind of actions I worked with during this time.

Part of the installation 'the sound of a temple from six thousand miles away', a part video / part sound / part sculptural installation commissioned by Glynn Vivian Art Gallery Swansea and exhibited at The Ragged School in 2013 as part of Glynn Vivian's Offsite exhibition 'Let's see what happens...'
